Flowers From Our Yard: A July Surprise

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.)

I never expected to have iris blooming in our yard in July, but Cantina opened this past Sunday. We noticed the flower stalk when we got back home last week. Although unexpected this time of year, I do like this blossom very much.

Yes, we never expect, but they show up.

That's why we have surprises, and fun.

That would be a suprise. I'm in the "its time to replant the iris bed" phase myself.

I like the clear definition of the petals and the background leaves a bit muted. It makes the flower "pop" - - like 3-D.
