Sempervivum

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

Sempervivum ('always alive'), or hens and chicks, are wonderful succulents that we have growing several places in our yard.  They need very little care and multiply very well, filling in spots where other plants don't seem to thrive.  The color and form varies, but they are always fascinating.

One of my favorite plants. I look forward to planting a few of these this year. Have a good day, George.

I've always loved the hens and chickens, they are such a hardy little plant, I have mine planted inside a strawberry pot.
Lovely picture George.

The plant itself looks like a little green flower. Pretty, and nice to have plants that grow easily and don't require a lot of attention.

I am IMPRESSED with this shot. I think they do NOT look pretty in the lens, but your shot is beautiful! They had a bunch of these in front of Trader Joe's a few days ago, and I took lots of pictures, they all turned out terrible. Maybe YOU had the sun!

Love the enlarged view. My mother in law has tons of these, I need to get some from her... although, I BET I COULD KILL THEM WITHOUT MUCH EFFORT.

I have some of these too and they are coming along nicely this spring.

I never knew the real name - - - but thought it was hens and chicks when I saw it. We don't have any in our yard. Do they ever flower?

That's very different, haven't seen any around here. Thanks for sharing. Does it bloom into a color as well?

I have seen this kind of plant in a hill station here. They are unique in shape of flowers.
