Ocean Isle Beach

(This picture can be enlarged by clicking on it.  Clicking a second time will make it full-sized.)

One nice thing about going to the beach in early May is that we often have the beach too ourselves.  The water may still be too cold for swimming, but the quiet peaceful scene more than makes up for that.

Having the beach to yourselves - that's what we look for, too.
Off seasons are wonderful, and I hope they always exist! :)
This looks so relaxing.
As we wove through all of the Great Lakes on our way home earlier this week, we stopped along Lake Michigan's north shore, along some dunes, which look just like this.
Not a person in sight, either.. just the waves. Bliss!

Even when it can be noisy, it also can be so peaceful to be near the water. Great photo.

I need a beach, with peace, quiet and nothing but the sound of the ocean. This one would do nicely... if it wasn't so far. Lovely, George.

I enjoy the beach so much when it is "off season"...the rooms are less expensive, the crowds aren't there, and the heat isn't oppressive. When we lived in Mary Esther FL we would go to Destin because it was very un-crowded anyway (a secret treasure!) at least back then, and we loved to go in the late afternoon when we could just walk on the beach, watch the sunset and listen to the surf. Heaven! (Sorry I am so behind...racing like a turtle to catch up! :-) )
